the city tree... a perfect size for the little apartment..barely enough room for all of nutmeg and griffins gifts!! hope everyone had an amazing and peaceful holiday surrounded by loved ones... i have counted my blessings so very many times these last few days.....
i have found my calling...after maryellen and i built the rock wall in the sleet and ice & i didn't even mind being in 25˚ weather from dawn 'til dusk....
the camp was full of love and warmth on thanksgiving day!! our turkey turned out beautifully after the 12 hour brining and the herb rub.... that darren is truly an artist.
we have been having such a wonderful time watching the profile of the camp get an overhaul...scott said his goal was to have the exterior of the house honor and compliment the interior of the space.... it is such fun to see his vision come to life.... and he is allowing me a few choice touches!
maryellen captured this shot of me perusing the november issue of country living and yes those are tears....of joy!! if you haven't gotten a copy yet they are on the newstands now!!
this was one of those fall into bed days at the camp...activities galore...landscaping...studio work being done...photographs being taken...& much lounging in the sunshine was done by nutmeg and griffin...
what does a barn in rural new jersey have to do with pink and the west village? can you imagine repurposing this wood into the lobby of an apartment building where the triplex is going for upwards of 30 million.... well first of all let me tell you that i had the absolute honor of touring the ongoing and much debated julian schnable project..and words cannot describe how incredible the attention to detail..the organic use of space..the maximization and effusion of light..the re-purposing of found objects from french candy store counters greeting you in the lobby to 200 year old indian gates and architectural detail adorning the balconies.. so magnificent and risk taking in the same vein as his depthful and vibrant painting and his engaging and emotionally inspiring films.. i am truly in awe.....
today is about texture, texture, texture! i was in an amazing space today with exposed brick as far as the eye can see, skylights 12ft across, walls of windows, kitsch and play throughout!! so super sexy i fell in love.....
happy october 1st! does everyone love autumn as much as i do? warm cups of coffee&cocoa, changing leaves and crisp air...barn sales...walks on the canal with the puppies... weekend jaunts...
this is my favorite time of year....smiling faces..swings in steps the first peeks at sweaters and boots..i am already experiencing a bit of boot envy..
it is a beautiful friday morning...so.along with maryellen, nutmeg, griffin & i went to mud for some amazing coffee and homemade granola.. the puppies made lots of new friends..and jake made my java just the way i like it! xoxoxox
it is one year to the day that our beloved bliss departed... she is still in everything we do and she is loved always!

on a spur of the moment buying trip to woodstock and rhinebeck this past weekend ms. nutmeg and i take a moment to admire the beautiful sunflowers...
we found some choice antiques..met some cool people..spent many hours going through barns...dined on mexican food in a funky & colorful little cafe...and returned to the camp with a full pickup!
this upcoming week has us in the studio where darren, maryellen & i will be working on some custom furniture for clients & some amazing picks for our ebay store.....
